Aussies, like many herding breeds and other breeds as well, can inherit a mutant gene which predisposes them to toxicity to certain drugs, i.e., ivermectin (wormer,) Immodium(antidiarrheal,) and acepromazine (tranquilizer,) among others. These drugs can pose serious risk to dogs who possess the mutation. Please read up on the "MDR1 mutation" on the WSU Veterinary College website. All current Herd About Aussies have had genetic testing to verify that they are normal/normal for MDR1.

It is impossible to guarantee adult size. We can project adult size based on birth weight and weight at time of sale, but it is an educated guess!

Price vary according to color, sex, eye color and size. Toys are generally higher than minis, females higher than males, merles higher than tris, and some consideration is given to eye color. Aussie eye color varies widely, and all colors are beautiful. Tris are 600-800. Blue eyed tris are 1000 and up. Merles are 800-1200.
